Protect your income with trauma insurance

Trauma cover: are you protected?

We very rarely discuss case studies but I thought it worthwhile to share with you some news about one of our Halogen clients. As you may be aware trauma insurance (sometimes called critical illness insurance) is designed to pay out on a specific traumatic event for example cancer, stroke or a heart attack, plus others.

Financial Advice Our client, in her 30s and in great health, was recently diagnosed with breast cancer. Thankfully, she had taken out $350,000 trauma cover following advice several years ago so on diagnosis of cancer she was able to make a claim.

The claim has just been paid out by the insurance company so the client has been able to use the funds to pay out her mortgage and cover other expenses during this difficult time. She's now concentrating on getting better, which is great.

This client's experience has reinforced to all of us here again how important trauma cover is. Please find below a summary of the benefits of this cover.

What is trauma insurance?
No one likes to imagine a tragic event happening to themselves or their loved ones. Unfortunately medical trauma is an increasing reality and can change our lives forever. Even worse the medical expenses associated with such trauma can magnify the problem.

Trauma cover provides a tax free lump sum in the event that you suffer from one of the 40 or so defined trauma events such as cancer, heart attack and stroke just to name a few. You are covered 24 hours a day anywhere in the world.

There can be different conditions for men and women and policies do vary from company to company but premiums are very competitive among most of the insurance providers.  Please contact us if you would like to discuss your own needs.

Please don't put it off. A trauma event can dramatically change the course of your life. I urge you to do what you can to protect yourself.
